Innovative Science and Excellence in Pediatric Research Grant

The Child Health Research Center is searching to fund innovative, paradigm shifting, and/or technology advancing projects through an Innovative Science and Excellence in Pediatric Research Grant. Funding will support projects in basic, translational, and/or clinical research to obtain preliminary data for external funding.

Amount:        $25,000

Duration:       1 Year

Eligibility:      University of Virginia Pediatric Faculty

Format:

  • All applications will follow the NIH Format (form attached is adapted from NIH 398).
  • Font: Arial 11 pt, ½-inch margins
  • Budget/Budget justification (1 page each)
  • NIH Style Biosketches (3 page maximum)
  • Resources
  • Specific Aims, Significance, Innovation, Research Plan (6 pages maximum, excluding Literature Cited)
  • Human Subjects and/or Vertebrate Animals
  • Letters of Support

Maddy Deal Pilot Project Grant

General Information:

The Child Health Research Center is searching to support the funding of novel pilot projects through the Maddy Deal Pilot Project Grant. Funding will support projects in basic, translational, and/or clinical research to aid in obtaining new data for external funding. Novel, creative ideas will be given priority for funding. No preliminary data is required

Amount:        $5,000

Duration:      1 Year

Eligibility:      University of Virginia Pediatric Faculty

Format:

  • Font: Ariel 12 pt, 1 inch margins
  • 1 page
  • Style: Specific Aims Page of NIH grant

Must include: Background, Hypothesis, Specific Aims, Methods employed, Anticipated Results and Significance.
