The Department of Pediatrics will hold its 28th annual University of Virginia Children’s Hospital Research Symposium on May 19 at the Battle Building from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm. This conference provides a forum to share and celebrate research at UVA that improves the health of children. Please join us to learn about the extraordinary and diverse research by our faculty and trainees in basic science, clinical investigation, quality improvement and translational research.

 Alessio Fasano, M.D., Professor and W. Allan Walker Chair in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at MassGeneral Hospital for Children will deliver the keynote address, ” How Early Nutrition Influences Gut Microbiome and Metabolic Profiles in Health and Diseases” from 8:00-9:00 a.m. in the Quayle Learning Center (Battle Building, 1st floor). There will also be platform and award presentations, a poster session, and an opportunity to meet Dr. Fasano in a small group while discussing about “How to choose the right mentor for a successful academic career” open to residents, fellows, students, and faculty.
