Apr 18 The Science and Practice of Compassion

[Education Resource Center, Room B ] Recent research provides good evidence to suggest practicing compassion, (including self- compassion) has an overall positive impact on health and wellbeing, and can serve to diminish negative consequences of stressful situations. Join us for this seminar to learn how empathy and compassion differ; how to self-monitor for and address compassion fatigue; as well as ways to cultivate the practice of compassion in your own experiences. This hour will feature information sharing as well as several brief opportunities to practice exercises shown to cultivate compassion.
