Research Interest:

Phosphorylated peptides are a newly identified class of tumor-specific antigens. My work is aimed to characterize HLA-B7-restricted phosphopeptide-specific immunity in healthy individuals, in Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) patients, and in Myelodysplastic Syndrome patients (MDS, a disease state that frequently leads to AML), as well as to investigate the origin of cancer-associated phosphopeptide-specific immunity in healthy individuals that have never had cancer. This work could lead to therapeutics such as vaccination to elicit or augment phosphopeptide-specific immunity as part of an immunotherapeutic approach to treating cancer.
