Research Interest:

My research focus is on the innate immune system and its relationship with wound healing. The innate immune system senses both pathogens and host cells damaged during physical injury or infection. The response to these events can drastically change the wound healing process from a tissue resolving response to a permanent scar or chronic wound. To study this, we are using micro annealed particle hydrogel to capture immune cells and signals in wounds for analysis. Ultimately, we will tune the immune response to wound healing by conjugating different immune regulating molecules to the hydrogel for wound treatment.
