Chad Lehman is the first of five awardees of the 2018 Hutcheson Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowship. He is a rising 4th year majoring in Human Biology. During this Summer’s fellowship, he has been working jointly in Michael Brown and Tim Bullock labs; and he has been working on NK and T cell function in non-small cell lung cancer. His primary focus this summer has been to to develop a flow cytometric assay evaluating the phenotype and functionality of these cells. He will ultimately use this assay to characterize tumor infiltrating lymphocyte populations from a cohort of non-small cell lung cancer patients. After graduation, Chad hopes to continue medical research by pursuing an MD/PhD dual degree.
