Immunotherapy ramps up at UVA

In August, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the latest iteration of the burgeoning field of immune therapy for cancer, in this case allowing the genetic modification of a patient’s own immune cells so that they can effectively recognize and respond to cancerous cells.Collaborations among researchers interested in Melanoma are moving forward.  This article concerns Ken Hsu’s new grant and the way it weaves into the work of CIC members, Don Hunt, Craig Slingluff and Tim Bullock.
