Objectives:

  1. Understand the historical approaches to vaccine development and their plusses and minuses.
  2. Understand newly developed approaches to vaccine antigen identification and production.
  3. Understand techniques used to study the microbiome.
  4. Understand how different inputs affect the microbiome.
  5. Understand how synthetic biology can be used as a tool to evaluate candidate antigens for vaccine development
