Objectives:

  • Understand the personal, institutional, and societal reasons for developing technologies from academia, esp. new reagents and drugs.
  • Learn about the personal experience of an academic drug discoverer.
  • Recognize some of the pitfalls and uncontrolled variables that exist when technologies are being developed from academia.
