“A longitudinal study of trauma-alcohol conditioning and DNA methylation in posttraumatic stress disorder and alcohol use disorder symptoms”

Objectives:

1.     Examine the role of conditioning processes in the self-medication model of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD) comorbidity

2.     Evaluate a longitudinal model of trauma-alcohol conditioning and PTSD and AUD symptoms among young adult survivors of sexual and physical assault

3.     Evaluate DNA methylation as a possible mechanism accounting for the effects of trauma-alcohol conditioning on PTSD and AUD
