Clinical Research Unit (CRU) on Collins 3

The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) on the 3rd floor of the Collins wing (formerly Barringer wing) continues to serve as an outpatient/low-risk clinical research facility. This approximately a 3750 square foot facility which provides the following:

  • 7  subject rooms
    • 3 rooms equipped for extended day visits and/or overnight stays
    • 1 room large enough to accommodate two overnight subjects or daytime visits requiring larger/more equipment
    • 1 room equipped as an infusion room
    • 3 rooms equipped for short out-patient visits
  • Laboratory space equipped for processing and temporary storage of specimens
  • Nutritional support space with access to a metabolic kitchen and dietitian support
  • Nursing support 7 AM- 7PM, M-F
  • PRN staff support arranged as needed for off-hours study visits
  • Easy access to Exercise Physiology Core Laboratory (located on Collins 2)

Clinical Research Unit (CRU) at Fontaine (560 Ray C. Hunt Drive)

The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) on the 1st floor of the 560 Ray C. Hunt Drive building at Fontaine serves as an outpatient/low-risk clinical research facility. This facility provides the following:

  • 7 exam rooms (4 of which are furnished as interview rooms)
  • 1 phlebotomy room
  • Laboratory space equipped for processing and temporary storage of specimens

This space is not staffed.  To utilize this space, clinical research teams must provide their own staff.
